This is the “real deal” garlic bread! Not your sprinkle a little bit of garlic salt stuff… or the stuff you buy pre-made at the grocery store. This is the best homemade garlic bread!
- Fresh French bread (I prefer a baguette)
- 1/2 cup softened butter (1 stick)
- 3-5 cloves of garlic, depending on your taste and how much you love garlic 🙂
- Olive oil
- Course sea salt
- Fresh herbs
- Paprika
Instructions:
Chop your garlic with a big chefs knife.
Once the garlic is chopped, generously sprinkle your garlic with course sea salt and lightly drizzle with olive oil.
Continue to chop the garlic mixture. You’ll feel the grit of the salt as you chop. That’s what you want. It should look like this….
Now sprinkle with more salt and a tiny bit more oil. This time, use the side of the blade of the knife to smash the garlic mixture into the cutting board to make a paste.
Add the garlic paste to your softened butter. Chop up whatever herbs you like. I love basil and parsley, so that’s what I used. Throw those into the bowl as well.
Stir together and grab your bread!!
Slice your bread in half length wise and spread on the butter mixture. Now grab your olive oil! LIGHTLY drizzle the oil on the edges of your bread.
Lightly sprinkle with paprika.
Place your pan of bread in the oven on LOW broil. Watch carefully as bread can burn quickly!!! Once it’s done your house will smell heavenly… and you’ll be tempted to eat the entire loaf! lol Don’t do it!! Sharing is caring right?? 🙂
I like to eat my garlic bread with lots of yummy dishes… but tonight it’s with Potato Leek Chowder!! YUM!!
